1. Culture and Values

I have heard about this but don't know what it is

We live by our Culture and our Core Values are everything to us

We've defined our core values but we don't do anything with them

2. Org Chart & Position Responsibilities

Not sure why I need this

No idea, What's this?

I have an org chart but don't have clearly defined responsibilities by position.

Our Org chart is defined with the 5 responsibilities per position.

3. Financials

I get financial statements at least quarterly but I really don't understand them.

If there is money in the bank and I can pay my bills, I am happy. Numbers don't matter much to me

I get monthly financial statements but don't know how to improve them.

We review our financials monthly and are reaching industry benchmarks. We know what changes we can make to improve the bottom line.

4. Services & Pricing

We aren't all things to all people. We have set recurring services with set pricing that is profitable. We limit the numbered of one-time services sold & understand they don't grow our business.

We will sell both one-time and recurring services depending on what the customer wants. Doesn't matter to us, just want to make money.

My service prices vary based on what I think the customer will pay.

I'll do any type of service to make money.

5. SOP’s Policies & Procedures

Some stuff is documented, some stuff isn't relative any more. I just haven't had time to keep it up to date.

Everything we do is documented and regularly updated. Our work is performed as expected.

I just tell everyone what they need to know. I know how to do everything so all they have to do is ask

I should document stuff but I just don't have the time.

6. KPI's

We have a couple but not sure what to do if they aren't achieved

Every employee has 1-5 KPI's

No idea, What's this?

I've heard of them but not sure why KPI's What's this? I need them.

7. Sales & Marketing

We have a marketing plan in place and our able to track our ROI on that spend. We have a successful sales team that meets their goals which means the business hits its goals

We do marketing but still aren't growing.

I'm the sales person of the company and we cannot afford to do much marketing

We have sales people, we spend money on marketing, we may or may not hit our goals but at least we are growing.

8. HR

I have no hiring process. We hire those we like. Unfortunately we have problem people on our staff because it's hard to hire new ones.

We have an employee handbook and somewhat of hiring processes. We aren't very good at it and put up with a lot with regards to our employees.

I hate hiring and try to avoid it

We have an employee handbook along with documented hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, disciplining, and off-boarding processes that are followed. We get rid of bad employees immediately to protect our culture.

9. Training

I have people who seem to be good at training. No idea what they do but they say they like to do it.

We have a documented training program for every position that gets updated regularly.

We just put a new hire with someone else in that position and let them figure it out.

We have training for service and office but not for sales or management.

10. Planning - Goal Setting

I write my goals down every year and look at them at the end of the year to see how I did.

I have annual goals that I turned into monthly goals, but don't know what to do when I don't achieve them.

We have goals for the company and every department that are reviewed daily in order to make adjustments so we can achieve our goals each month.

No idea how to do this, nor do I want to.

11. Vision

I have some ideas on what I'd like my company to be like in the future but they are just ideas

We know exactly where we want to be in 3 years and have annual plans in place to get there

I know exactly what I want for the future of my company, just don't know how to make it happen.

12. Owner’s Freedom

I work all the time even though I have employees to help. Just not good at delegating. It's easier to do it myself.

I work all the time - first in, last to leave. I NEVER take time off. I am exhausted!

I take at least 1 vacation a year, but I am constantly checking emails and staying in touch with the office.

I can leave for weeks at a time and never worry about a thing because I have the right team in place who knows what's expected of them and they get it done!
